Analysis
The focus of our analysis is on the Inside Story and Secret History investigations, with critical and comparative reference to the local films, The Bloody Sunday Murders and Bloody Sunday â A Derry Diary. We will analyse the programmes according to how they are structured and the narrative and visual strategies with which they attempted to investigate, explain and contextualize the events of Bloody Sunday: these include setting the scene, providing context, reviewing the evidence, visualizing the shootings and closing the scene. The reader should note that where we present edited transcripts from the films at the centre of our analysis, we draw attention to significant audio visual elements by presenting them in square brackets.
